Sculptures and Puppetry

Here you can see my various maquettes, puppets, and other sculptural works. I really had a blast creating every piece you see here and their subject matters really showcase my interests. I feel like you can apply a lot of the knowledge in real-life sculpture building and puppetry to CG modeling.

Fairy House

9"x 9"x 12"

After designing the concept for this fairy house, I sculpted it out of bakeable polymer clay and painted it with acrylic paints. I wanted to create an inviting home that represents the real-life nature a fantastical creature like a fairy might use in the creation of their home. The home is a giant acorn with a sunflower petal and oak leaf roof embellishment.

This is a hand puppet I designed and sewed using the snoof pattern from PuppetNerd.com.

Sprinkles is a soft-spoken, yet energetic guy who wants nothing more than to spread joy and cupcakes to everyone he meets. Made using fur fabric, ping-pong balls, the insides of a googly eye, a pom-pom, plastic mouth-plate, and ostrich feather hair. All the hair and feathers that make up Sprinkles really add a lot of sympathetic motion into his design and brings him to life.

Ferret Character Maquette

After designing this ferret character, I sculpted him out of bakeable polymer clay and painted it with acrylic paints. My goal was to create something new, but use an old thrifted item as the base armature.

Huey, Dewey, and Louie (Disney) Bronze Maquettes

1"x 1"x 2" ea.

I created bronze sculpture of Huey, Dewey, and Louie from Disney's Ducktales using lost-wax centrifuge casting. Afterwards, I composited them into a living set inside Unreal Engine 4.
